Do you like good burgers? Do you also like a small distance separating you from said burgers? Well, then do I have good news for you, ICO. There exists a place in the magical land of South Loop where you can seek out some of the best burgers in Chicago. By way of a short bus ride on the 4, you will find yourself at the threshold of The Burger Point. This restaurant serves, in this blogger’s humble opinion, the best beef in the city- a bold statement, I know, but these guys got the flavor to back it up. …And no, I have not been to Au Cheval, so please refrain from brandishing your torches and pitchforks just yet. Right now, TBP has the spotlight.
I came to The Burger Point for the first time on a whim with some of my friends visiting from out of town. Located at State and 19th, it was close by. Also, the reviews online were asserting some boastful claims, so we decided to see what was up. When we got there, the first thing I noted was the vibe was very casual, and the place itself relatively small with open seating and a handful of TV’s on the walls. The attitude of the staff mirrored the laid-back atmosphere; everyone was super cool to us and made us feel welcomed. Once we placed our orders, we sat down and awaited our feast to commence. Needless to say, we were not disappointed.

Let me tell you about these burgers! It was really hard to narrow it down to which one I wanted. Not only was there a lot to choose from, but the options available were very unique. From the cranberry reduction laden Gobbler to the piquant Spanish Revolution, there was something for every type of burger buff. I could make a whole other blog post about their menu, but I’ll just leave you the link instead if you wanna check it out yourself.
I ultimately channeled my inner ‘Merica and went with the Crunchy Burger, topped with double American cheese, potato chips, and house-made french onion sauce. I’d never had potato chips on a burger before, but it was straight fire 🔥🔥🔥 . Since then, I’ve been back one other time where I got the Blue Harvest, adorned with bacon, bleu cheese, and bourbon bacon jam. Ya boy’s appetite was thoroughly satisfied after that one.

With so much to choose from, I can’t wait to go back and try out one of the other unique creations The Burger Point is grillin’ on a daily basis. Don’t worry if you’re not about that red meat life, as you can substitute your beef patty for salmon, turkey, veggie, or chicken patties. In addition to the burgers, they serve sides such as wings, fries, chili and more. I, personally, got fries with my meal both times. They were delicious, but at a place called The Burger Point, the burgers are going to steal the show. Some of the more opulent sandwiches can run you a little higher, but for the most part, I’d say the burgers are reasonably-priced for the quality. ICO fam, if you want a good meal, check out this gem right in our backyard.
